Great business tips from James Altucher. He writes simply and well.

James Altucher's answer: My business was killing it. We were making millions in profits, revenues, and had good employees. One of my shareholders yelled at me for a stupid reason. It’s not important why. He realized he was wrong later. Too late. I found a shareholder to buy him out. Life is r...

Important digital privacy information at our FB blog Digital Security. We strongly advise you to read and FOLLOW.

Here at Digital Security we take your privacy seriously and keep you informed about what you need to know. We're sad to report that by providing backdoors, the Canadian company Blackberry has taken the ATT approach of favouring governments over you. Sad. My smartphone IS my life. We applaud Apple for putting customers first. Regarding the government's assertions that they need backdoors, etc. to fight crime and terrorism.. not true! Let's take the case of the Syrian "Islamic -murderer" who committed the Xmas truck attack in Berlin. He had been radicalized by an Imam in Berlin who should never have been allowed to operate in the first place. Plus the guy was a known criminal who should never have been walking free. Easily accessing the killer's phone after the attack wouldn't bring the dead back to life. In summary, security experts say that governments need to follow the Israeli model (find terrorists first) over the US model (wait, then try to search everyone at the airport, including 85-year old grandmothers.) REMINDER: Talking about airports, remember that customs officers can ask you to unlock your phone so they can look through it. And in many places like Singapore, porn is illegal. Not that we have any on our devices! Just sayin' Please LIKE and SHARE to keep these reports coming.

A Major Issue with Internet Info: We'd like to say, "check out this great FB Page info" but instead our title is "a Major Issue". Why? Because the article has no date. In fields that change quickly, NEVER rely on undated info. You WILL get burned. eg We planned to go big into HootSuite but found out the prices are now much higher than what the outdated research said.

The New Facebook Pages with Timeline are here. Here are 28 things you need to know about previewing the new design, timeline cover photo, updates, the admin panel, Insights, and custom content.

Own a Website? Read This! Hack Type 1: Attackers compromised sites to insert their own giant AdSense code and site owners didn't even see it. Hackers either inserted JavaScript code manually inside the website's source code or had altered core CMS files to load the JavaScript code automatically. "These attacks didn't target one specific type of platform, and the attackers compromised sites running on WordPress, Joomla, Magento, and even static HTML sites. "In some cases, the attackers appeared to have compromised the WordPress admin account as well, since the malicious code had been added to the site using a widget, and not by editing source files. "According to Sucuri, these gigantic ads appear on both mobile and desktop versions of the compromised sites, and attackers used a filtering system to show the ads only to real users." (Meaning owners/admin didn't see them.) Hack Type 2: "..basically, users that didn't want to visit the adult site in the first place were trying to play a nonexisting video but actually clicking on a hidden ad. And advertising companies still wonder why more and more people are installing ad blockers."

VERITASIUM'S EXPERIENCE with FB Marketing: Important! Likes from developing countries, such as Egypt and Bangladesh: less than 1% of the people who liked the page engaged during the month. Veritasium never paid for likes; the page used legitimate Facebook advertising. But even though their number of followers increased to over 70,000 in just a few months, the engagement rate decreased. This means that Veritasium paid for advertising that actually hurt their page. Click farmers took advantage of the advertisements to help cover their tracks, and because the engagement rate decreased, Veritasium’s organic posts are now less likely to show up to their genuine followers.

Facebook fraudulent likes and click farms are the biggest challenge for brands to tackle nowadays. Why should you never fall for it, How to
